Stock market have crashed today, marking the sixth day of continuous decline(PTI)

On Wednesday, the benchmark indices Sensex and Nifty resumed their downward trend, with each index experiencing a nearly 1% decline, resulting in new daily lows. This is the sixth consecutive session in which both indices have experienced a decline.

At approximately 10:05 a.m., the Sensex had fallen by more than 860 points to 75,430.23, while the Nifty had fallen by nearly 260 points to 22,814.50.

All sectoral indices, with the exception of the Nifty IT index, were in the red. Nifty Realty, which experienced a significant decline on Tuesday, was down 2.62%, while Nifty Media was down 2.53%. With a 0.28% increase, Nifty IT demonstrated marginal gains.

The Nifty Smallcap 250 index experienced a decline of over 3%, while the Nifty Microcap 250 index experienced a decline of 2.92%.

Sensex’s top casualties were Mahindra and Mahindra, Zomato, Reliance, Adani Ports, and IndusInd Bank. The list of losers on Nifty was dominated by Reliance Industries, Bharat Electronics Limited, Axis Bank, and Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited.

On the Sensex, 556 equities had reached their 52-week lows, while a record 433 Nifty stocks had reached their yearly lows.

The Sensex has plummeted by nearly 3,200 points in the six-session-long market collapse, which is still ongoing, and the Nifty is on the brink of a 1,000-point decline.
