Elon Musk has declared his resignation from the Trump administration, having served as the director of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) for the previous four months. The White House has verified the departure of the Tesla CEO, who was arguably the most influential figure in the government after the President.

The billionaire expressed his gratitude to President @realDonaldTrump for the opportunity to reduce wasteful spending as his scheduled time as a Special Government Employee draws to a close on X. He also stated that the DOGE mission will continue to be fortified as it becomes ingrained in the government’s culture.

There is now only one concern on everyone’s mind: “Who will lead DOGE after Musk?”

Musk indicated that he would resign from his position as senior advisor to the US President during an interaction with the media on Trump’s 100th day in office earlier this month. He responded, “DOGE is a way of life, similar to Buddhism,” when asked who would assume leadership. Is Buddha essential for the practice of Buddhism? Was Buddhism not more robust following Buddha’s death?

In the same way that Buddhism persisted without Buddha, the Tesla CEO stated that DOGE would continue its operations in his absence.

When asked whether DOGE would cease operations, Musk replied, “I believe it will continue to grow.”

Elon Musk’s resignation occurred one day after he publicly criticized Trump’s “Big Beautiful Bill,” which he claimed was in opposition to DOGE’s mission, resulting in an increase in the national deficit. He stated, “A bill can be either large or aesthetically pleasing.” However, I am uncertain as to whether it is possible for it to be both. My own assessment.

Musk has been instrumental in the transformation of the federal government by spearheading cost-cutting initiatives, such as the elimination of waste, the simplification of operations, the reduction of staff, and the closure of numerous departments, since his appointment to the Trump administration.

Some of Tesla’s investors and stakeholders were unimpressed by Musk’s assertion in March that he was balancing his ventures and DOGE. The EV’s shares experienced a 15% decline, and SpaceX also encountered difficulties.

Although he was not an elected official, his participation in the Trump administration drew widespread criticism, resulting in protests in the United States and Europe. Additionally, the investors encouraged him to prioritize Tesla, which experienced a decline during his tenure at the White House.

Last year, Musk allocated nearly $300 million to support Trump’s presidential campaign and other Republicans. Additionally, he declared his intention to reduce his political expenditures earlier this month.
