At the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport, epic scenes played out as Rohit Sharma arrived in Mumbai with his family after leading India to win in the Champions Trophy 2025.
In the final, the India captain hit 76 runs off of 83 balls against New Zealand and was named Player of the Match. Rohit’s fifty was important for India as they tried to score runs. He hit seven fours and three sixes to score the most runs for his team.
As soon as Rohit got to Mumbai, his fans went crazy. In several videos that went viral, the India captain came out of the airport to cheers and praise from fans who had been waiting for him with great dedication. Because there were so many people waiting outside the airport, Rohit needed a real security team. Police officers were all around him, and fans were rushing to greet him and try to get a lucky handshake or selfie.

India beat Australia in the semi-finals, and Rohit became the first and only captain to take a team to all ICC tournament finals. India has won the 2023 World T20 Championship, the 2023 ODI World Cup, the 2024 T20 World Cup, and most recently, the 2025 Champions Trophy. As of now, he has won the 2024 T20 World Cup and the 2025 Champions Trophy while being manager.
He also had a special word for the Indian cricket fans who came to watch the game on Sunday. “I want to thank everyone who came out and supported us,” he said. The crowd has been great. This isn’t our home pitch, but they made it feel like it was. A lot of people came to watch us play, and getting that win in the end was very rewarding.
He also said nice things about India’s spin bowlers, like Kuldeep Yadav, Varun Chakaravarthy, Ravindra Jadeja, and Axar Patel. “When you play on a pitch like that, there are too many expectations on our spinners, but they never let us down.” We knew what they were good at when they played on fields like this; we used that to our advantage. “We played some great cricket, and our bowling was very consistent throughout the tournament,” he said.
