Dubai, UAE: Virat Kohli scored the 71st century of his international cricket career, ending his century drought against Afghanistan in the Super Four match of the Asia Cup 2022. This century came out of Kohli’s bat after 1021 days and he also equaled Ricky Ponting (71 centuries) in the case of most international centuries. Not only this, but Virat Kohli also completed his 24,000 runs in international cricket on the basis of his unbeaten 122 against Afghanistan.

Talking about Virat Kohli’s international cricket career, he has so far scored 24,002 runs in 522 innings of 468 matches at an average of 53.81. Kohli has 71 centuries in his name and his best score so far is 254 not out. Kohli has so far 124 half-centuries in his name as well as 2388 fours and 253 sixes. Virat Kohli has now reached number seven in terms of scoring the most runs in international cricket. Sachin Tendulkar (34,357 runs) has the most runs in international cricket.

Virat Kohli became the fourth batsman to score a century for India in International T20. Before Kohli, Suresh Raina, Rohit Sharma, and KL Rahul had done wonders by scoring centuries in International T20 cricket for India.

Virat Kohli was adjudged the player of the match for the innings he played against Afghanistan. This was the 13th time in T20Is that Kohli was awarded the Player of the Match title and he defeated Afghanistan captain Mohd. Equaled the prophet, who has also won this title the same number of times.
